Box Score Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Despite an early lead, the Lynn University women's soccer team could not hold on as a pair of first-half goals by the No. 25 Nova Southeastern Sharks bit the Fighting Knights 2-1 in a Sunshine State Conference battle on Wednesday night.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Emily Weisberg struck early for the Fighting Knights, potting a goal in the third minute of action when she took a pass from Jamie Perriello and chipped it over the keeper for an early Lynn lead.
- Nova Southeastern answered quickly, however, as Bailey Corbin finished a deflection in the box off a corner kick to make it 1-1 in just the 11th minute of play.
- A 45th-minute goal proved to be the difference, as NSU scored with less than one minute to play in the first half to take a lead into the final 45 minutes.
- Alexa Downie finished the match with four saves as she made her 15th start of the season for Lynn.
- Gabriela Moreira and Weisberg each tallied a pair of shots on goal for the Fighting Knights in the loss.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- NSU has now won each of the last five meetings between the two teams.
- Lynn's goal in the third minute snapped a streak of scoreless SSC play that spanned four games prior to the contest.
- Weisberg's goal was her third of the season, and first goal that was not scored via penalty kick.
- Lynn had a late chance to tie the game, but a long shot by Brittney Benedict went over the crossbar.
