Saint Leo, Fla. – The Lynn University women's basketball team used a balanced effort from the entire team on Saturday afternoon to claim its first Sunshine State Conference victory of the season, 67-52, over Saint Leo. Mariah Penascino and Paola Vazquez Concepcion each scored double-digit points for the Fighting Knights, while Juju Uloma racked up 12 boards off the bench.

STATS OF THE GAME:

• Penascino led all Lynn players with 13 points on the day, grabbing six rebounds—five of which came in the first half—in the process.
• Vazquez Concepcion had 11 points, marking the 10th time this season she has reached the double-digit plateau.
• Uloma's 12 rebounds were a career-high, and her first time recording more than eight rebounds in a single game.
• Jaylen Snipes and Janay Williams each finished with nine points in the game, with Snipes grabbing seven boards and Williams snaring six.
• Eight Fighting Knights made more than one field goal in the game, and seven players finished with five or more points.
• Lynn shot 44.1 percent from the floor to Saint Leo's 30.2 percent.
• The Blue and White out-rebounded the Lions by a 44-33 margin, including a 14-9 edge in offensive rebounds.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• Lynn trailed by as much as seven points early in the game, but never trailed in the second half.
• This is the third time in the last four years that the Fighting Knights have won their first game following the Christmas break.
• The win is Lynn's 30th win all-time against Saint Leo, the most wins against any opponent in program history.
• Lynn has won three games in a row for the first time this season. It is the second consecutive year in which the Fighting Knights have won their final three games of the calendar year.
