Box Score 2 BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University softball team opened Sunshine State Conference Play with two straight victories in the double-header against their bitter-rival, Barry Bucs, 4-3 in extra innings, and an 8-2 onslaught in game two. Karolina Flores was clutch in both games, hitting a homerun and the walk-off single in the first game, in addition to the perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate in the second contest.

STATS of THE GAME:
- Game 1
- Flores, Leanne Wright and Sara Vazquez led the home squad, recording two base knock's a piece.
- Francais Olexa, Caitlin Rolston, Mackenzie Wyatt and Madison White all recorded one hit at the plate.
- Olexa got the start in the circle, and pitched a complete game earning her the victory for the Fighting Knights. The Canada-native was efficient in throwing 72 strikes on 104 total pitches while giving up three runs on eight hits and three strikeouts plus one free pass to the Bucs hitters.
- Game 2
- Flores would continue to shine in game two, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. Victoria Rios was the other Fighting Knight to get three hits in the contest.
- Wyatt and Erin Sundook took advantage of the poor Bucs pitching and hit safely twice in the game.
- Katelyn Key was outstanding on the mound, pitching a complete game, improving to 2-1 on the year, giving up just two runs on five hits.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The fans at Lynn Softball got to watch the Fighting Knights battle in extra innings for their third time this season. The Blue and White are now 2-1 in extra inning contests this season.
- This was Olexa's second 9-inning complete game this season. The last came in the 1-0 shutout of Alabama-Huntsville. The junior now owns a 2-1 record on the young season.
- Flores's walk-off was the first in her career, and gave the home squad momentum going into game two. She finished the double-header with five hits in seven at bats knocking in four runs and crossing the plate three times.
- Key recorded her first complete game of the 2017 season.
- Rios managed to hit her second bomb of the season in game two, the last coming in the 6-4 win over West Alabama on Feb. 4.
- The Fighting Knights have won back-to-back games for the first time this spring.
