Men's Basketball Snaps Skid; Escapes Lions' Den in Overtime

Saint Leo, Fla. – Terrell Rogers' game-tying free throw with five seconds to play in regulation kept Lynn University's men's basketball team alive before the Fighting Knights secured a thrilling 75-73 overtime victory on the road at Saint Leo Wednesday night. The Lions heaved up a nice look from long range right at the final buzzer but it fell just short. The Blue and White halt a five-game slide while picking up a key Sunshine State Conference victory.

  • Lynn featured a balance scoring effort with different players stepping up at different stages of the game. Four Fighting Knights finished in double figures.
  • Marquan Botley and Jamal Palmer led the way with 16 points apiece. Botley added three assists and Palmer corralled six rebounds.
  • Rogers and Kevin O'Brien followed up with 12 points each. O'Brien just missed the double-double with nine boards.
  • Vieux Kande controlled the inside with nine points, four blocks and a game-high 12 rebounds.
