Box Score 2 West Palm Beach, Fla. – A heartbreaking loss to start its doubleheader did not dampen the Lynn University softball team's spirit as the Fighting Knights shook off the 5-4 defeat to win 6-2 in game two and take the series against Palm Beach Atlantic. Francais Olexa tossed the complete game to earn her 10th win in the circle and Leanne Wright went 5-for-8 at the plate.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Game 1
- Kayla Sheffield allowed three runs, two earned, on eight hits over five innings before Katelyn Key came on in relief.
- Key took the loss (3-4) after surrendering two runs on two hits.
- Unfortunately two errors and two wild pitches allowed PBA to score twice in the final inning to earn the victory.
- Lynn committed three errors in the game.
- The Fighting Knights logged 13 hits, with four players recording multiple hits.
- Erin Sundook led the charge, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a RBI and run scored.
- Victoria Rios, Elizabeth Diaz and Wright each went 2-for-4.
- Shayle Arenson scored twice.
- Game 2
- Olexa returned to the circle and scattered four hits over seven innings with four strikeouts and two walks. She allowed two run in the third but kept the Sailfish off the scoreboard throughout the contest.
- At the plate, the junior lefty went 2-for-3 and scored the game's first run in the top of the first.
- Wright went 3-for-4 with a RBI and Arenson was 2-for-4 with a run.
- Diaz proved the most timely hit, belting a three-run home run in the fifth inning to put the game away. She was 1-for-3 on the night.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Lynn's 13 hits in game one tied a season-high.
- Wright concluded the series 8-for-12 with a home run and four RBIs.
- Olexa became the first Fighting Knight to reach double-digits in victories in the circle since 2015.
- This marked the first time since the Barry series (2/18-19) Olexa started two out of the three games in a series.
- Sara Vazquez scored an unusual run in the second inning of game two. After Olexa moved her up to second with a force at first, the entire Palm Beach Atlantic team retreated to the dugout. Vazquez then rounded third and trotted home uncontested.
