HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • A remix in doubles pairings proved no problem for the Fighting Knights as the home side took all three bouts.
  • Germans Grace Mpassy/Stefanie Stemmer took the top doubles flight, 8-4, Diana Bogolii/Martina Gledacheva breezed by at the two-spot, 8-1, and Carolina Cuevas/Tereza Hejlova rounded out the pairs sweep at No. 3, 8-3.
  • 12th-ranked Bogolii was all business in singles play, winning at the No. 2 spot, 6-1, 6-0.
  • Shortly after, Gledacheva closed out in the No. 4 match to secure Lynn's fifth team point (6-3, 6-0).
  • 23rd-ranked Mpassy won in straight sets with identical 6-2 tallies, Cuevas took the No. 5 matchup, 6-2, 6-1, and Hejlova won at No. 6, 6-4, 6-2.
  • Rollins' Carlye Goldman, the only Tars' player with ITA clout at 20th-ranked in the region, gave Stemmer some fight at No. 3 but the Fighting Knight pulled it out in a second-set tiebreaker, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Lynn has won both of its SSC matches so far this season by a 9-0 score.
