Bradenton, Fla. – Lynn University's second-ranked women's tennis team embarked on its Sunshine State Conference Tournament title defense Thursday afternoon as the second-seeded Fighting Knights blew past seventh-seeded University of Tampa in the quarterfinal round, 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn improved to 59-1 in doubles action this season with a 3-0 edge to start off the match.
- Tereza Hejlova and Martina Gledacheva continue to perform as a fresh look at No. 3 doubles, routing the Spartans 8-0.
- Rosalie Willig and Stefanie Stemmer – the newly appointed top tandem in the South Region -- posted an 8-1 win at the No. 1 flight.
- Diana Bogolii and Grace Mpassy rounded out the doubles sweep at No. 2, 8-2.
- Bogolii and Hejlova quickly clinched the match for the Fighting Knights with straight-set wins in singles.
- Bogolii dominated the No. 3 matchup, 6-0, 6-0, while Hejlova took No. 6, 6-1, 6-1.
- Willig, Stemmer and Gledacheva all won their respective opening sets, 6-1.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Hejlova and Gledacheva have played the last two matches together at No. 3 doubles after not pairing up since Feb. 18. Both outings have been 8-0 wins.
- The Fighting Knights are the defending SSC Tournament Champions.
