Box Score 2 BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's pitching did all it could in its double-header with Embry-Riddle as the softball team split on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 loss and 2-1 extra inning victory. The Fighting Knights allowed one earned run in 17 innings and three earned runs in 26 innings total in the series.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Game 1
- Lynn was on the verge of being no-hit until Leanne Wright belted a one-out double in the bottom of the seventh. She would go 1-for-2 and also reach base on a bean ball.
- Shayle Arenson reached base twice on a single and was also hit by a pitch.
- Lynn looked to tie in the seventh but stranded two runners on base.
- Kayla Sheffield (7-3) allowed only two hits with three strikeouts and no walks but an error in the fifth allowed Embry-Riddle to score the only run of the game.
- Illona Andriga fanned eight in seven innings and allowed two hits.
- Game 2
- Katelyn Key earned the start in the circle, walking two and allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts.
- Francais Olexa tossed the final three innings of the game, holding the Eagles hitless to earn the victory (12-9).
- Sophia Devesa gave the Fighting Knights their first lead of the day with a RBI single in the second, plating Arenson.
- Lynn would score in the bottom of the 10th when Embry-Riddle's second baseman could not handle a ground ball, allowing Sara Vazquez to score.
- ERAU's Kassidy Simons struck out seven with five hits allowed, two runs, one earned, and one walk over 9.2 innings.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Lynn played in its ninth extra inning game of the season, improving to 5-4 on the year. Olexa has appeared in all nine contests.
- All three games in the series were decided by one run, the second time that has occurred this year (Florida Southern – L 4-3; W 3-2; W 2-1).
- Olexa moved into fifth place in school history in total innings pitched (421).
- Vazquez collected her fifth stolen base of the year, giving her 29 in her career, four back of tying the school record.
