No. 2 Women's Tennis Opens Home SSC Slate with 7-0 Win over No. 16 Tars

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's second-ranked women's tennis team had its first Sunshine State Conference home match of the 2019 season on Saturday morning, easily sweeping No. 16 Rollins College, 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Fighting Knights won all three doubles matches, including two 6-0 decisions, for an early 1-0 lead.
  • The pairs of Natalia Siedliska and Leolia Jeanjean at No. 1 and Federica Mordegan and Eleonora Liga at No. 3 posted 6-0 doubles triumphs.
  • Eliska Petrackova and Ulyana Grib rounded out the pairs sweep with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
  • Lynn confidently took all six singles matches in straight sets to close out the nationally-ranked Tars.
  • Liga highlighted the Blue and White singles performers as she didn't drop a game in her 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6.
  • Grib blanked her opponent in the second set following a 6-1 first-set win at the third flight.
  • Jeanjean (6-2, 6-1) and Siedliska (6-2, 6-2) brought home victories at the top-two positions.
  • Mordegan and Petrackova recorded identical 6-2, 6-3 wins at the fourth and fifth flights, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Liga did not lose a game in doubles or singles today.
  • Lynn already has two dominant wins over NCAA DII Top-16 teams on the young season. They also defeated NAIA-No. 2 Keiser.

Lynn is right back at it tomorrow, hitting the road on Sunday, Feb. 24, for a 1 p.m. match at Flagler.
