Boca Raton, Florida, August 6, 2021 – Lynn University Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, Ron Davis, has been selected to serve on the softball regional advisory committee for the Sunshine State Conference.  

In this role, he will assist the national committee in the evaluation of teams throughout the season, the evaluation of potential regional sites and the recommendation for the championship. 

"I am honored to represent Lynn University and the Sunshine State Conference on the softball regional advisory committee," Davis said. "I look forward to working with my fellow committee members." 

Regional advisory committee member responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Adherence to championship policies and procedures 

• Evaluating and ranking teams in the region using selection criteria. 

• Ensuring that teams under consideration meet minimum game requirements. 

• Formulating recommendations to the national committee. 

• Ensuring that all information reviewed by the regional advisory committee remains confidential. 

• Understanding that all conference assigned individuals on the regional advisory committee represent the region, not the conference. 

• Serving as the alternate for the regional chair on the national teleconference while the chair's team is under consideration. 

• Serving as an NCAA regional representative if the regional chair is unable to attend or his or her team is participating in the tournament. 

• Serving as an NCAA representative at the national championship. 

Davis joined Lynn University's athletic department in July of 2015 as the Assistant to the Director of Athletics. He was promoted to Director of Athletic Events in November of 2016 and named the Assistant Athletics Director for Administration on Feb. 12, 2018. On Monday, August 24, 2020, he was again promoted to Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs. 

Davis' role revolves around oversight of the athletics external operations team. This unit includes equipment operations, athletics marketing, corporate sponsorship, and game operations. Davis is also responsible for assisting the athletic director in day-to-day operations, while also overseeing all NCAA postseason competitions and signature events for the department of athletics.
