Box Score St. Petersburg, Florida - Anniina Sankoh recorded her second hat trick in a row, but this time it wasn't enough to lead the Fighting Knights past Eckerd in their SSC opener.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- The Fighting Knights struggled to find any rhythm in the first half. The Tritons had no such trouble, and they netted three goals in the first 35 minutes to jump out to a 3-0 lead.
- Sankoh found the back of the net for the first time with just 20 seconds remaining in the half. The goal, which was assisted by Molly Bryans, had the opportunity to turn the momentum in favor of the Fighting Knights heading into the locker room.
- Ultimately, the momentum didn't swing to Lynn, and Eckerd struck first in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 59th minute.
- Sankoh scored twice in 2:30 to bring the Fighting Knights back within one with just over 20 minutes remaining.
- Despite putting up 12 shots in the second half, Lynn was unable to score the equalizer.
- In all, the Fighting Knights outshot the Tritons 19-16, and they put 13 shots on goal. However, Tritons' goalkeeper Cadence Talbert recorded 10 saves to help her team earn the victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Sankoh's unbelievable start to the season continued on Saturday night. She has recorded eight goals and 16 points in four games. She leads the SSC in goals, goals per game, points and points per game.
UP NEXT:
The Fighting Knights will return home to take on Nova Southeastern on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. They previously tied 1-1 in a game that didn't count toward conference records.
