BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Lynn University volleyball team opened the 2022 South Region Crossover with a 3-0 shutout of Union (Tenn.), Friday.
The win is the seventh-straight for the Fighting Knights and fourth-consecutive shutout. Union entered the Crossover with a 15-6 overall record and sits in second place in the Gulf South Conference. Lynn improves to 13-3 overall with the win and has defeated Union in each of the last three meetings.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn won by scores of 25-15, 26-24 and 25-11
- The Fighting Knights broke a 9-9 tie in the first set with a 12-1 run for a 21-10 lead. Graduate

- A kill from senior
Nadia Lindner and an error on Union gave Lynn the 25-15 victory
- The Fighting Knights rebounded from a 5-0 hole in the second set to tie the contest at 12-12 behind kills from senior
Paige Barash and Katanic
- Lynn then posted a 4-0 and 3-0 run to lead 19-16 and Barash later smacked a kill and had a service ace as it led 19-16
- The Fighting Knights closed out the narrow set with kills from Lindner and sophomore
Aline Olegario and an error from Union for the 26-24 win
- Lynn posted an 8-1 run in the third set to grab an 11-4 lead as Lindner posted five kills during the run
- The Fighting Knights later added a 4-0 run behind two kills from graduate
Monica Mazzoleni for a 23-9 cushion
- Two late errors by Union closed the match with a 25-11 win for Lynn
FIGHTING KNIGHT NUMBERS:
- Lindner posted 12 kills and hit .391
