BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Lynn University women's volleyball team collected two more wins on Saturday on the second and final day of the South Region Crossover.
The Fighting Knights opened the day with a 3-1 victory over Alabama-Huntsville and then followed it up with a 3-0 shutout of Montevallo. The pair of victories pushed Lynn's win streak to nine games, while the shutout of the Falcons is the 11
th of the season for Lynn (15-3).
GAME ONE – ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLE
- Lynn defeated the Chargers in four sets, 25-19, 27-29, 25-19, 25-20
- The Fighting Knights used a 6-0 run early in the opener for an 8-4 cushion and later a 7-1 scoring jolt for a 21-12 advantage

Paige Barash smacked a pair of kills late in the set for the 25-19 win
- Lynn scored the first four points of the second game, but Huntsville battled back to lead 9-7 and 17-15
- Graduate
Monica Mazzoleni posted a kill that gave the Fighting Knights a 21-20 cushion and later another kill from Mazzoleni tied things at 24

Nikolija Katanic gave Lynn its final lead of the second set with a kill for a 27-26 edge, but the Chargers rebounded for the win (29-27) with three-consecutive points
- Huntsville opened game three with a 4-1 lead and later led 8-5 and 10-7
- Lynn tied the set at 13 and three-straight points gave the Fighting Knights the lead for good at 16-14
- The Fighting Knights sealed the win in the third set, 25-19, by scoring six of the final seven points
- Lynn held a pair of four-point leads in the fourth game before the Chargers used a 4-0 run in the middle of the set for a 15-14 advantage
- The Fighting Knights scored four of the game's next five points to lead by two, 18-16, and a run of five-straight points late in the set gave Lynn the 25-20 victory
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Senior
Nadia Lindner tied a season-best with 21 kills and chipped in nine digs
- Barash finished with 17 kills and nine digs, while Mazzoleni had 10 kills and five blocks
- Senior
Emily Edwards handed out a season-best 57 digs and posted a season-high six blocks. She also contributed nine digs and two aces
- Graduate
Marin Black posted 20 digs
GAME TWO – MONTEVALLO
- The Fighting Knights posted scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-21 and as a team .333 and limited the Falcons to just .126
- Lynn raced out to a 9-1 lead in the opening set behind three kills from Lindner
- The Fighting Knights later posted a 6-2 run for a 19-10 lead, and Katanic put an exclamation point on the game with a kill for a 25-14 win
- Montevallo erased a 4-0 deficit early in the second set to pull to within two on four occasions, the last coming at 13-11
- The Fighting Knights rattled off five-consecutive points for an 18-11 cushion and they scored the final three points for the 25-18 win. Barash and Mazzoleni each posted two kills down the stretch to help seal the win
- The third set mirrored the first as Lynn jumped out to a 9-2 lead following 6-0 run
- Olegario, Katanic and Barash smacked kills in the middle of the set as the Fighting Knights led 14-9
- Montevallo rebounded to pull within one, 18-17, but the Fighting Knights proved too much as they slowly pulled away behind seven kills for the 25-21 win
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Lindner again led the charge with 12 kills and three digs as Barash contributed 10 kills and nine digs
- Olegario and Mazzoleni each smacked nine kills and they finished with a .643 and .471 hitting percentage, respectively
- Edwards had 34 assists and eight digs, while Black had 12 digs
