DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Lynn University men's soccer team scored a goal in each half en route to a 2-1 win over Embry-Riddle, Saturday evening.
With the victory, the Fighting Knights are 3-0-2 in their last five Sunshine State Conference games and they sit at 3-3-5 overall on the season. The loss drops the Eagles to 2-8-3 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn attempted a season-high 19 shots and limited Embry-Riddle to just seven. Lynn also held an 8-3 edge in corner kicks
- Lynn, which held a 15-2 lead in shots in the first half, opened the scoring when graduate student
David Bauer found the net for the third time on the season. He scored off a free kick from senior
Michael Knoetzinger in the 37
th minute for a 1-0 cushion
- Embry-Riddle evened the contest at one apiece when Sandro Henning converted a penalty kick at 62:26. It was the hosts' fourth shot of the contest
- Less than 10 minutes after the Eagles' goal, Lynn answered when graduate
Moritz Lusch found the net on a deflected shot that hit the right post for a 2-1 cushion. It was his first tally of the season
- Eagle keeper Thomas Loesel made a pair of saves in the second stanza to keep his team in the game. His first stop came at 66:02 and the second save kept Lynn from adding to its lead in the 85
th minute

Luca Clavero needed just one save for his third win of the season. He has surrendered two goals in five starts this fall
