Volleyball collects 10th-straight win

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Senior Paige Barash smacked 14 kills and senior Emily Edwards passed out 27 assists to lead the Lynn University volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Palm Beach Atlantic in Sunshine State Conference play, Tuesday.
 
The Fighting Knights pushed their winning streak to 10 matches, including seven-consecutive wins in the league. The 3-0 victory over the Sailfish (10-10, 4-6 SSC) is the 11th shutout of the season for Lynn, which now sits at 16-3 overall on the season and 8-2 in the conference
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights hit .300 on the evening and defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 25-16, 25-13 and 25-15
- Lynn limited the Sailfish to a 0.074 hitting percentage and the hosts posted eight service aces and 10 blocks
- The Fighting Knights used a 5-0 run and later a 4-0 scoring spurt for a 16-11 edge in game one
- PBA pulled to within four, 20-16 before Lynn scored the final five points for the set win
- Lynn used a 9-1 scoring run to open a 10-4 lead in game two and later posted two quick 3-0 runs for a 21-12 advantage
- The Fighting Knights closed out the second set with four of the final five points for the win
- Lynn scored four-straight in the third set for a 7-4 lead before Palm Beach rallied to take a 10-9 edge
- The Fighting Knights took control of the third game with a 7-0 run for an 18-11 lead
- Sophomore Aline Olegario smacked two kills and graduate student Nikolija Katanic closed the set with a kill for a 25-15 win
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT NUMBERS:
- Barash hit .370 in the three sets with a match-best 14 kills
- Edwards added six kills and eight digs
- Graduate Marin Black led all players with 20 digs

- Lynn returns to the court on Friday at Eckerd College at 7:00 pm
