TAMPA, Fla. – The Lynn University women's soccer team drew Tampa, 2-2 on Saturday night. It was the Fighting Knights' first draw of the season. Lynn's record now stands at 5-7-1, while the Spartans finished the game at 6-6-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tampa midfielder Sophie Shrader got the scoring started with a goal into the left side of the net at 10:45. She scored again at 18:37 to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead
- Fighting Knights' freshman
Amanda Jansson knocked a ball through the middle of the net at the 29:54 mark. It was her third goal of the season. She is second on the team in that category behind
Anniina Sankoh's six
- Graduate defender
Jessica Newton scored her first goal of the season at the 67:05 mark, bringing the contest to a draw
- Lynn had a final chance at breaking the tie at 89:35 with a Sankoh free kick, but were unable to capitalize
- Tampa registered 19 shots (seven on-goal) to the Fighting Knights' 8 (three on-goal)
- Senior midfielder
Addison Crone led the Fighting Knights in shots (3), and also tallied an assist and a shot on goal. Freshman midfielder
Kayla Bradby registered one shot
- Senior goalkeeper
Hannah Harbich-Kuster saved five shots on the evening
