Lynn women lose road contest at Saint Leo

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Lynn University women's soccer team lost 3-1 to the Saint Leo Lions on Tuesday night on Be the Match Leukemia Awareness Night from Saint Leo. The Fighting Knights dropped to 5-8-1 with the loss (3-6-1 SSC), while Saint Leo improved to 8-5-2 (4-5-1 SSC).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Lynn got on the board first with a strike off the foot of Anniina Sankoh at the 9:56 mark. It was the graduate student's team leading seventh goal of the season. Junior Brigitta Pulins assisted on the play, her second of the season. Sankoh led the team in shots in the game, with four, while junior Katja Orschmann tallied three
  • The Lions scored three consecutive goals to take the game by the two-goal margin. Alicia Hills (16:52), Alexia Spencer (82:06), and Alex Collighan (83:24) all drew net for the home team
  • The Fighting Knights were outshot 21-10, with Saint Leo amassing 13 shots on-goal to Lynn's three
  • Lion midfielder Caitlin Strong tallied six shots, including three on-goal. Spencer amassed four (three on-goal) while Collighan registered three (two on-goal)
  • Hannah Harbich-Kuster saved nine shots, giving her 47 for the season
  • Both sides each received six corners, with Lynn tallying 13 fouls to Saint Leo's four.
