Volleyball rolls past No. 16 Barry

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University volleyball team posted a 3-0 shutout victory over No. 16 Barry in front of a packed house at the de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center, Tuesday in a key Sunshine State Conference matchup between the two schools.

In an evening full of stories and headlines, the Fighting Knights shook off two weekend losses with their second dominating performance of Barry this season. The Buccaneers have just two conference losses, both to Lynn, and sit atop the conference standings.

However, Barry's record and national ranking did little to slow down the Fighting Knights as they collected the win behind scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-22. Lynn has won its last six matches at home and all six have come via shutout.

- Game two featured just two ties and two lead changes and the Buccaneers used a 4-0 scoring jolt for a 14-8 just prior to the midway point of the set. Barry later extended its lead to 20-13
- The Fighting Knights stormed back by scoring 12 of the final 14 points for the win
- A 4-0 run pulled the hosts to within 20-17 and a 3-0 spurt made the score 21-20 in favor of Barry

- The third set featured another 11 ties and four lead changes
- Lynn collected a 5-1 run in the middle of the set for a 13-10 lead, but Barry battled back to tie the set at 19-19 and 20-20
