BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's soccer team closed its regular season Friday afternoon at Bobby Campbell Stadium with a 2-0 shutout win over Saint Leo.
The win is the fifth-straight for the Fighting Knights and pushes their overall record to 6-3-5 and 6-2-2 in the Sunshine State Conference.
The Fighting Knights have earned a spot in the SSC Tournament that starts next week. The final seedings and opening round matchups will be announced late Friday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn honored five senior players before the match with the Lions and two of those honorees scored for Lynn
- The Fighting Knights outshot Saint Leo 11-6, including a 6-1 edge in the opening half
- Freshman goalkeeper
Luca Clavero did his part to preserve the clean sheet for the Lynn defense making two saves for his second shutout in three games
- On the offensive end of the field, Lynn found the net once in each half

David Bauer headed home a cross off a set piece from senior
Michael Knoetzinger in the 27

- Knoetzinger later had a shot saved by Saint Leo keeper Ricardo Ceballos just before halftime
- The Fighting Knights made it 2-0 in the second half when senior
