BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University smacked 19 kills in the opening set in its match against Nova Southeastern on Tuesday and the Fighting Knights never let up in a dominating 3.-0 victory over the Sharks.
Lynn pushed its record to 10-3 overall and 5-2 in the league behind its fourth-straight SSC win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights hit .323 during the match behind a dominating .483 hitting percentage in set one
- Lynn finished the evening with 45 kills and 41 assists compared to just 32 kills and 29 assists from the Sharks

Paige Barash hit back-to-back kills in the opening set for a 13-9 lead and senior
Nadia Lindner posted a kill later in the set for a 17-12 cushion
- Barash again smacked back-to-back kills for a 20-15 lead and Lynn posted the final four points of the set to take the 25-17 win
- The Fighting Knights never trailed in set two and held early leads of 4-0 and 10-3
- Nova Southeastern was able to rebound and narrow the deficit to just one, 14-13, before Lynn collected runs of 4-0 and 5-0 to secure the 25-18 set two win
- The third and final set was the closest of the night as the Sharks opened up a 5-1 lead and later led 13-11
- The hosts took control with a 5-0 scoring jolt that broke a 17-17 tie for a 21-17 advantage
- Barash smacked a kill for the night's final point as Lynn earned a 25-20 win in the third and final set
