ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Senior
Michael Knoetzinger and junior
Patrick O'Halloran each scored a goal in the second half to rally the Lynn men's soccer team past Eckerd, 2-1, Saturday in SSC action.
The win pushed Lynn's record to 2-3-5 overall and 2-2-2 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eckerd's only tally of the match came in the 36
th minute as Fredrik Heise scored on the hosts first shot of the night
- Lynn outshot the Tritons 3-2 in the first stanza and Knoetzinger had a low shot saved just before halftime as Eckerd led 1-0 at intermission
- Knoetzinger put Lynn on the scoreboard at 51:58 when he buried a penalty kick that evened the count at 1-1
- At 75:40, Lynn's
Kyle Patton had s shot saved by Eckerd keeper Lynden Dawson
- O'Halloran gave the Fighting Knights the lead for good at 76:23 when he scored unassisted goal for a 2-1 lead
- The two teams combined for just one shot following O'Halloran's goal and that attempt sailed wide off the foot of Eckerd's Tommy Shepherd

Luca Clavero notched two saves in the win in goal for Lynn University
- Knoetzinger, O'Halloran and Patton each attempted three shots and combined for nine of Lynn's 10 shots in the contest
