ROME, Ga. – The Lynn University women's basketball team scored 51 points in the second half to rebound from a halftime deficit for an 82-73 victory over Christian Brothers, Friday afternoon.
The win marks the sixth-consecutive season that Lynn has opened the year with a victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights led 24-16 after the first quarter, but they scored just seven points in the second quarter and trailed 37-31 at intermission
- Lynn's defense helped force 16 turnovers from the Buccaneers and led 18-6 in points off turnovers
- The Fighting Knights held a decisive 29-9 advantage in bench points
- Lynn had four players in double figures and knocked down 11 three-pointers
- The Fighting Knights led by as many as 11 points in the opening quarter thanks to a 7-0 run that was started by a three-pointer from graduate student

Jada Marone capped the first quarter with another three-pointer for Lynn
- Christian Brothers rebounded in the second quarter and closed the the frame with six-straight points for the halftime lead
- The Buccaneers continued that momentum into the third period as they pushed their cushion to 12 points less than two minutes into action
- CBU later led by 10, 51-41, before Lynn started its comeback

Loie Webb hit a layup at 2:22 that pulled Lynn to within three, 51-48, and Marone hit a three-pointer at 1:35 as the Fighting Knights trailed by just two, 53-51
- Lynn took the lead for good when Marone connected on a three and graduate
Marianna Klavina made a fast break layup for a 58-57 advantage after three quarters
- The Fighting Knights controlled the fourth as they slowly increased their lead until the final horn

Ella Fiore made a layup with 4:36 to play as Lynn grabbed its first double-digit lead, 71-61

Lucija Kostic increased the advantage to 14, 75-61 with a layup with 3:43 left on the clock
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Marone led the Fighting Knights in scoring with 23 points behind 6-of-8 shooting with four three-pointers
- Klavina added 14 points, while Kostic paced Lynn with six rebounds, eight assists and two blocks

Makayla Hemingway each added 10 points
