DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Lynn University volleyball team cruised to another 3-0 shutout on Friday night, this time over Embry-Riddle.
The victory is the second 3-0 sweep of the Eagles this season for the Fighting Knights and improves their overall record to 22-5 and 14-4 in the Sunshine State Conference. Lynn has won its last six matches and five of those six have come via shutout.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn smacked 50 kills in the match and finished with a .289 hitting percentage
- The Fighting Knights also posted 12 blocks and held Embry-Riddle to just 32 kills
- Lynn collected a 12-1 run in the first set for a 13-3 cushion

Nadia Lindner smacked back-to-back kills for a 21-12 lead and graduate student
Kate Pestova later added a kill to seal the game-one win at 25-19
- The Fighting Knights used another big run to open the second set as a 10-2 scoring jolt gave them a 10-6 lead
- The Eagles rebounded to lead by three, 18-15, but Lynn answered with 10-2 run to win the set

Monica Mazzoleni posted two kills to tie the contest at 18, Lindner added two more kills for a 21-20 advantage, while senior
Emily Edwards and sophomore
Aline Olegario combined for a blocked that sealed the win at 25-20

Paige Barash smacked two kills that helped Lynn break a 7-7 tie and grab a 10-7 edge in the third set
- Graduate
Nikolija Katanic kick started a 7-1 run with a kill as the Fighting Knights opened a 17-10 lead
- Olegario posted two kills inside a 4-0 run for Lynn and Pestova capped the evening with a kill that gave the Fighting Knights the 25-17 win in the third set
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Lindner hit .448 with 15 kills and six digs
- Pestova led all players with a .500 hitting percentage behind seven kills
- Mazzoleni added eight kills, three blocks and two digs
- Edwards handed out 37 assists with four blocks and three digs
