ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Four players scored in double figures but the Lynn men's basketball team endured an 85-73 loss at Eckerd in the league opener for both schools, Saturday.
Lynn's record evens at 1-1 with the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The contest featured five ties and seven lead changes
- Lynn made 11 three-pointers and shot 44.8 percent from the field
- Lynn led by as many as eight points in the opening half

Jamison Evans hit a jumper at 14:51 and a three-pointer on the ensuing trip down the floor as Lynn led 15-7

Esteban Lluberes connected on back-to-back three's as the Fighting Knights led again by eight, 24-16
- Eckerd rebounded with a 12-0 run that turned the eight-point deficit into a 28-24 lead

Braxton Bartlett hit a three-pointer at 2:05 as Lynn grabbed a 37-34 advantage
- The Tritons' David Swedura hit a layup with two seconds left in the half for a 41-39 lead at intermission
- Eckerd never relinquished its lead after halftime
- The Fighting Knights pulled to within two, 43-41 on a three-pointer by Evans at 18:34
- Eckerd posted a 10-2 run to snatch a 53-43 lead at 16:05
- The Fighting Knights were able to pull to within six points on three occasions, the final coming at 7:54 when freshman
Jimel Lane snared an offensive rebound and made the put-back as Lynn trailed 66-60
- Eckerd slowly pushed its lead to a game-high 16 in the closing minutes of play

- Lluberes led Lynn with 17 points, behind five-three pointers, six rebounds, four steals and three assists
