MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Freshman
Jimel Lane was the lone Lynn University player in double figures as the Fighting Knight men's basketball team suffered a 69-62 loss to Pitt-Johnstown, Tuesday.
Lynn falls to 1-2 overall on the season with the loss, while the Panthers improve to 3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn never led in the matchup with UPJ and the Fighting Knights trailed by 14 less than eight minutes into the contest
- Lynn rebounded behind an 11-1 run than pulled the deficit to four, 21-17 at 7:40

Esteban Lluberes made a layup at 4:27 as the Fighting Knights pulled to within two, 29-27
- The Panthers pushed their lead back to 10 at halftime 39-29

Nordin Kapic (18:13) and Lane (16:44) hit back-to-back layups as Lynn trimmed the deficit to 41-36
- Pitt-Johnstown increased its lead back to 14 points, 50-36 at 12:42

Jalen Gilmore hit a three-pointer (8:23) and Kapic knocked down a jumper (7:09) as the Fighting Knights trailed by just five, 53-48
- Pitt-Johnstown pushed its lead back to 11 with just 3:20 left in regulation

Jamison Evans pulled Lynn once again to within five, 61-56 with 1:57 play
- That was as close as the Fighting Knights would get as UPJ led eight with 1:00 left before winning by seven
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Lane scored 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting, 7-of-8 free throws with eight rebounds
- Evans finished with eight points
