SAINT LEO, Fla. – Four different players posted 10 or more kills to lead the Lynn University volleyball team to a 3-0 shutout of Saint Leo, Saturday.
The Fighting Knights hit .349 as they extended their winning-streak to five matches. Four of those five wins have come via 3-0 shutout and Lynn is now 21-5 overall and 13-4 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn led 56-32 in kills and 56-31 in digs
- The Fighting Knights hit .405 in the first set to set the tone
- The first game was a back-and-forth affair and Lynn was able to pull ahead 18-15 after kills from graduate students

- The Fighting Knights closed the first set on a 7-2 run for the 25-17 win. Graduate
Monica Mazzoleni and senior
Nadia Lindner posted two kills late to help the visitors to the win
- Lynn smacked six kills as it raced out to a 9-1 lead in the second game
- A 4-1 scoring jolt handed the Fighting Knights a 17-10 lead and two more kills from Howard made the score 23-20 in favor of Lynn
- Mazzoleni and Barash each smacked a kill to close out game two 25-21
- The Fighting Knights erased an early 5-2 deficit with a 6-1 run that put them up 10-8 and they never trailed again
- Back-to-back kills from Lindner pushed Lynn's cushion to 16-13 and graduate student
Kate Pestova posted four-straight kills to extend the lead to 23-17
- A late error on the Lions and a kill from Lindner sealed the win at 25-19
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Howard continued her stellar weekend as she hit a match-high .625 with 11 kills
- Lindner posted a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs as Barash contributed 10 kills and seven digs
- Mazzoleni hit .476 with 11 kills
- Pestova came on strong in the third set with five kills and a .429 hitting percentage
