BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn women's basketball team scored 77 points and shot 57.4 percent from the floor as it overpowered visiting Thomas (Ga.) for a 77-31 win, Saturday.
The Fighting Knights push their record to 8-2 overall on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Earlier this season, Lynn shot a school-record 68.9 percent from the floor in over Shorter and Saturday's 57.4 percent against Thomas is the second-highest mark of the season
- Lynn has now shot over 50 percent in six games, including the last three
- On defense, Lynn allowed season-lows in both points (37) and shooting percentage (20.3)
- The Fighting Knights held a 42-8 scoring edge in points in the paint
- The Fighting Knights shot 58 percent from the floor over the first 20 minutes en route to a 37-13 lead at halftime
- Lynn led 15-5 after the opening quarter, but used a 22-8 scoring edge in the second quarter for the 24-point halftime cushion
- Lynn scored the final five points of the first quarter and closed the half on a 13-2 run

Makayla Hemingway kick started the second-quarter run with layup and three-pointer

Kennedi Philson made two baskets during the run, including the final points of the second quarter

Meghan Cramb made back-to-back three-pointers as part of 12-5 scoring jolt that increased Lynn's advantage to 54-22 with 3:16 to play in the third
- Lynn closed the third with nine-straight points for a 63-25 lead after three

Rachel Romich hit a jumper with under a minute to play as Lynn grabbed a game-high, 43-point lead, 77-34
