MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Lynn men's basketball team dropped its first game of the Florida Tech Winter Classic to Clayton State 72-66, Sunday.
The Fighting Knights fall to 1-7 overall on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The game featured eight lead changes and seven ties
- Lynn shot 42.2 percent (27-of-64) for the game, but made just 3-of-16 three-pointers
- The Fighting Knights led 37-31 at halftime despite Clayton grabbing a 13-0 lead to open the game

Noah Kattan started a rally at 9:27 with a jumper as Lynn trailed 25-17

Nordin Kapic hit a three-pointer at 5:42 as Lynn trailed by five, 27-22
- Kapic later hit back-to-back layups as the Fighting Knights grabbed a 28-27 lead with 3:45 left in the opening half
- Kattan hit a layup with 1:15 to play for a 35-29 lead and Kapic hit a layup as time expired for a 37-31 lead at the break
- The second half had five ties and Clayton knotted things at 39 under two minutes into action

Jalen Gilmore hit a three at 16:49 and Kapic hit a jumper on the ensuring trip down the floor as Lynn led 46-41
- Clayton hit back-to-back baskets and a free throw to tie things at 48 with 12:14 left
- Kapic hit a pair of buckets and freshman
Jimel Lane posted a dunk at 7:08 as Lynn surged to a 57-54 advantage
- Kapic again hit a jumper at 3:18 and Gilmore knocked down a three-pointer at 2:26 as the Fighting Knights led 64-62
- Clayton State rallied for the win behind a 10-2 run over the final 2:26
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Kapic finished with a double-double 28 points and 15 rebounds
- Lane added 12 points and six boards, while Gilmore scored eight points
