DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Lynn University women's basketball team collected its second Sunshine State Conference win with a 71-55 defeat of Embry-Riddle behind three players in double figures and over 50 percent shooting from the field.
The Fighting Knights move to 7-2 overall on the season and 2-2 in the league with the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn was outscored in the first quarter, but rebounded to outscore the hosts 53-36 over the final three quarters
- The Fighting Knights shot 56.3 percent from the field on 27-of-48 shooting
- Lynn knocked down six three-pointers and scored 29 points off 24 Eagle turnovers
- The visitors scored 38 points in the paint, including 16 in the fourth quarter
- Lynn trailed 19-18 after the opening quarter, but used a late second-frame surge for 10-point lead at halftime
- With 2:07 left in the first half, the Fighting Knights used a 9-0 run to snatch a 40-28 lead from Embry-Riddle

Ella Fiore scored four points during the run to help Lynn to a 40-30 edge at intermission

Meghan Cramb helped Lynn to a 45-30 lead just before the midway point of the third quarter with a three-pointer

Rachel Romich hit two free throws at 4:20 as the Fighting Knights led 51-37
- The Eagles closed the third with six-straight points that narrowed their deficit to 51-43
- Embry-Riddle further narrowed its gap to 55-51 with 5:57 showing on the clock in the fourth
- Lynn closed the final quarter on a 16-4 run to seal the win
- Fiore started the run with a jumper at 4:30 and she hit a three-pointer at 3:19 for a 62-51 lead

Kennedi Philson hit a layup with 32 seconds left to set the final at 71-55
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Cramb scored 17 points with four three-pointers, four rebounds and three steals
- Fiore added 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting with six rebounds
- Philson finished with 12 points and a team-best seven rebounds
