Lakeland, Florida - The 10th-ranked Fighting Knights moved to 1-0 in SSC play after taking down Florida Southern in Lakeland.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In doubles, Karyna Bihel and Jacqueline Wagner won 6-3 for their second victory of the season in the first doubles slot. They have outscored their opponents 12-3.
- Giorgia Pigato and Zofia Podbiol played the closest match of any of the doubles matchups. They were able to hold on to defeat their opponents 6-4.
- In third doubles, Barbora Cibakova, and Irina Lapustina dropped their first match of the season, falling 6-3 to the team of Ellenberg and Salerno. Despite the loss, Lynn took the 1-0 lead into singles.
- In first singles, Podbiol easily defeated Laura Vetter in straight sets. She won the first set 6-4 and the second 6-3.
- In second singles, Pigato won the first set of her matchup 7-5. She battled in the second set and was ultimately able to win in a tiebreaker 7-6 (6-3).
- In third singles, Cibakova dropped the first set of her match against Minnie Kim, 6-3. In the second set, she dominated, defeating Kim by a score of 6-2. In the final set, Kim jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Cibakova fought back, but her late surge wasn't enough. She would drop the set 6-4.
- Wagner fell behind 3-1 in her first set, but she fought back to force a tiebreaker. She ended up winning the tiebreaker 8-6 to take the 1-0 lead in fourth singles. She would win the second set 7-5 to take the match. Her match was the fourth singles match to finish, and it secured the win for the Fighting Knights.
- After playing sixth singles in the opener, Eliska Petrackova played fifth today. She fell behind 5-1 in the first set, then stormed back to tie it 5-5. However, she wasn't able to get the win, losing 7-5. She lost the second set 6-2.
- In her first singles action of the season, Bihel won her sixth singles' matchup in straight sets. She won the first set 6-4, then cruised to a 6-2 win in the second.
- The Fighting Knights are now 36-0 all-time against the Mocs.

The Fighting Knights will be home on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. to take on national No. 4 Nova Southeastern.
