Fighting Knights fall to No. 4 Nova Southeastern

Boca Raton, Florida - The 10th-ranked Fighting Knights suffered their first loss of the season when they lost to Nova Southeastern 5-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Lynn lost the doubles point for the first time this season, after their first and third doubles teams both dropped their matches. The second doubles match was not completed since the Sharks had already secured the point.
  • In singles, Nova Southeastern won the first three matches, which secured their victory. Zofia Podbiol suffered her first loss of the season in first singles. Giorgia Pigato also suffered her first loss of the year, dropping straight sets in second singles. Barboras Cibakova had some success in fourth singles, but she fell 6-4, 6-3.
  • With the match already in hand for the Sharks, the Fighting Knights were able to pick up two victories.
  • Karyna Bihel remained undefeated this season as she won 6-4, 6-0.
  • Irina Lapustina was able to win her sixth singles matchup in the only match that went to three sets. The final score was 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
  • In third singles, Jacqueline Wagner lost 6-1. 6-4.
  • The match began on Wednesday, but it was completed on Thursday after rain forced a postponement.
