Fighting Knights fall to No. 1 Barry

Boca Raton, Florida - After suffering their first loss of the season to Nova Southeastern on the 16th, the Fighting Knights lost again; this time to No. 1 Barry University.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Lynn won the doubles point for the first doubles loss of the season for Barry. The Fighting Knights first and third doubles teams both won their matches. The second doubles match was lost 6-3, however Lynn secured the point.
  • Irina Lapustina and Eliska Petrackova defeated No. 3 doubles tandom in the nation, Daniela Farfan and Kim Moosbacher 6-3.
  • In singles, Barry won the first four matches, which secured their victory. Karyna Bihel suffered her first loss of the season in singles losing 4-6,1-4. Barbora Cibakova had some success in fifth singles, but she fell 6-3, 6-3.
  • Zofia Podbiol fell to the No. 1 player in the nation Deniz Khanaz 6-2, 6-3.
  • Lapustina lost in sixth singles 6-1, 6-1.
  • In the third single, Giorgia Pigato lost 6-3, 6-4. This was her second loss after losing her first to Nova on the 16th.
  • Jacqueline Wagner was the only player for Lynn to lose in three sets. She lost 6-2, 5-7, 10-8.

UP NEXT
The Fighting Knights will be on the road to face St. Thomas on Wednesday, Feb. 23rd at 2 P.M.
