BOCA RATON, Fla. – After a back and forth first half, a 19-4 run in the third quarter helped the Lynn women's basketball team defeat Barry 82-74 on Saturday. The Fighting Knights had six different players score in double figures, led by graduate student
Jada Marone's 20 points.
Lynn is now 14-4 overall and 7-3 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lynn defense forced seven turnovers within the first five minutes of the first quarter to jump out to a 15-6 lead
- Barry hit five of eight three-point attempts in the second quarter to get back in the game
- After Barry took their first lead at 32-30 with 5:06 left in the second, Lynn fought back to go up 39-37 at the half
- Barry made the first field goal of the third quarter to tie the game at 39 before Lynn made their 19-4 run to take a 58-43 lead
- Marone scored seven of her game-high 20 points during the run
- Five other Fighting Knights reached double digits in points, including sophomore

- In the fourth quarter, Lynn held off a 16-8 Barry run that cut the lead to 80-74 with 35 seconds remaining
- Marone made two free throws with 16 seconds left to seal the Lynn victory
- Led by Marone's five swipes, Lynn had a season-high 18 steals on defense
- Marone now has five steals in three of her last four games
- Graduate student
Lucija Kostic had a season and team-high four blocks in the contest
- Kostic also dished out a team-high six assists and has at least five assists in each of the last four games
- Lynn shot a season-high 94.7% from the free throw line (18-19)
- In the second half, the Fighting Knights shot 60% (15-25) from the field and 55% (6-11) from three
