WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A pair of second half goals carried Lynn to a 2-0 road win over Palm Beach Atlantic, Wednesday night. Ricardo Packer Jr. scored in the 65th minute and Roman Hartleb added a goal in the final minute for the Fighting Knights. Lynn recorded its 10th shutout of the season and is now 8-2-4 overall and 3-2-4 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- PBA's Nicklas Clausen and Lynn's Max Lambertz traded shots to open the match in the 17th and 18th minutes
- Luis Kiefer and Lambertz and Packer each attempted shots prior to the end of the scoreless first half
- Lynn outshot PBA 4-1 through 45 minutes
- The Fighting Knights first tally came at 64:46
- Packer received a great driven pass from Lambertz, went right on his defender to the middle of the 18 and then put it past the PBA goalie to put Lynn ahead, 1-0
- The Sailfish attempted five shots over an eight-minute stretch between the 79th and 87th minutes as Lynn's Luca Clavero made two saves
- After a throw-in with less than a minute left, Roman Hartleb had a pass ricochet back to him
- Surrounded by three defenders, Hartleb punched a shot with his left foot into the back of the net to give Lynn a 2-0 lead
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Clavero posted his 13th career shutout and eighth of 2023
- Hartleb (3 goals) and Packer (2 goals) are two of six Fighting Knights with multiple goals this season
- Seven different Fighting Knights played the full 90 minutes
- Lynn is 6-1-2 on the road in 2023
