BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn men's soccer tied a season high in goals in a 4-1 victory over Embry-Riddle, Saturday evening.
Ali Koller and
Roman Hartleb scored in the first half, while
Ricardo Packer Jr. and
Fabio Menzel tallied goals in the second frame.
The Fighting Knights improved to 9-2-4 overall in 2023. In SSC play, Lynn is 4-2-4 and, with 16 points, has clinched a spot in the conference tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn scored on the first shot of the match at 8:01
- Packer's throw-in deflected off an Eagle and
Max Lambertz, setting up
Ali Koller, who pounded a shot that trickled off the goalie and rolled in for a goal
- Lynn kept the pressure on and posted two consecutive shots in the 35
th minute by
Joao Assis Negrao and Koller
- Negrao hit the post on a kick that bounced right back to
Roman Hartleb, who booted a shot past the Eagles goalie, to give Lynn a 2-0 lead at 36:18
- The Fighting Knights had a 6-1 lead in shots and 3-1 lead in corners at the half
- Embry-Riddle answered with a goal just seven minutes into the second half on a breakaway goal by Sandro Henning to cut Lynn's lead to 2-1
- Less than 10 minutes later, Lynn regained its two-goal cushion

Marco Costa had space and made a crisp pass that Packer Jr. was able to deflect with his head right past the Eagles goalie to make it 3-1
- In the 70
th minute, with Lynn continuing to attack,
Fabio Menzel corralled a pass from Jaidon Selden and sent a left-footed shot just inside the corner post for the Fighting Knights' fourth goal of the night
