Lynn men rally for third-straight win

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Four players scored in double figures to power Lynn University to an 87-83 win over visiting Lake Erie, Thursday night in non-conference action. Lynn is now 5-1 overall on the season, while Lake Erie settles at 3-7.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn led by as many as 13 points in the first half and Lake Erie led by 10, 74-64 with 7:09 to play in regulation
- Lynn rallied behind a 19-0 run that took control of the game
- The Fighting Knights held a 50-34 advantage in points in the paint
- The Fighting Knights shot 48.5 percent (16-of-33) over the first 20 minutes and led 44-31 at intermission
- Lake Erie led 15-12 following a three-point play from Damion Williams at 12:28 and Jacob Plantz made a fast break layup at 11:59 as LEC led by five, 17-12
- Sophomore Jalen Gilmore hit a layup at 8:41 and graduate Tradavis Thompson hit a layup at 8:10 as the Fighting Knights led 23-20
- Lynn used a quick 6-0 run for a 31-24 lead at 4:15
- Sophomore Nordin Kapic gave the hosts a 39-29 at 1:49 and graduate Jamison Evans hit a layup to close the half with a 44-31 Lynn advantage
- Gilmore hit a layup just over two minutes in the second half for a 48-37 advantage
- The Storm slowly chipped away at their deficit and a jumper gave them a 61-60 lead at 10:58
- Lake Erie kept the momentum going with an 11-2 scoring run for a 74-64 lead at 7:09
- Gilmore hit two free throws at 6:31 that started Lynn's 19-0 run
- Thompson hit a three-pointer at 3:41 for a 75-74 lead
- Thompson hit another three-pointer at 1:52 and two Kapic free throws pushed the Fighting Knight lead to 83-74
- Lake Erie made one final push as it trimmed its deficit to 85-83 before a pair of Thompson free throws sealed the 87-83 victory
- Lynn finished 30-of-61 from the field for 49.2 percent shooting 
- The Fighitng Knights were 24-of-34 (70.6%) from the foul line
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Kapic finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds behind 9-of-11 shooting at the foul line
- Graduate Ben Gahlert scored 19 points with nine rebounds (eight defensive)
- Gilmore handed out six assists and finished with 18 points
- Thompson scored 14 points with six rebounds
