WINTER PARK, Fla. – A pair of late free throws lifted Rollins to a 56-55 win over Lynn University in women's basketball action Saturday despite a furious rally from the Fighting Knights in the second half of play. Lynn settles at 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the Sunshine State Conference, while the Tars are now 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the league.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn struggled over the first two quarters, scoring just 12 total points and trailing 25-12 at intermission
- The visitors rebounded to outscore the hosts 43-31 in the second half
- The Fighting Knights shot 3-of-24 (12.5%) in the first half and rallied behind 14-of-26 (53.8%) shooting over the final two quarters

Trinity Mocadlo hit a jumper and senior
Danielle Montelbano hit two free throws as Lynn opened a 4-0 cushion in the first quarter
- Rollins answered with a pair of three-pointers for an 11-6 lead following the first frame
- The hosts slowly increased their lead to 25-9 before a three-pointer from Mocadlo closed the half at 25-12
- Rollins pushed its lead to 36-16 with 7:08 to play in the third before Lynn started its comeback
- Montelbano hit two more free throws and Mocadlo connected on a jumper as Lynn trailed just 42-31 after three quarters of play

Ella Fiore sandwiched a pair of buckets around a Montelbano free throw as the visitors trimmed their deficit to 50-47 with 4:07 showing
- Mocadlo hit a three at 1:19 and two more foul shots from Montelbano with 57 seconds left further trimmed the deficit to two, 52-50

Makayla Hemingway missed a layup but snared the rebound, made the put-back and ensuing free throw as Lynn led 55-54 with 17 seconds left
- The Tars grabbed the lead for good with two free throws on the ensuing trip down the floor for the 56-55 win
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Mocadlo led four players in double figures with 15 points and three three-pointers
- Hemingway finished with 13 points
- Montelbano added 13 points, including a 10-of-12 effort at the foul line
- Fiore finished with 11 points and a team-best six rebounds
