BOCA RATON, Fla. - Drew Dwyer tossed seven shutout innings and three Fighting Knights hitters went yard in a 9-1 win over Molloy on Friday afternoon. The Lynn starting pitcher picked up his third win of the season, while first baseman David Judge broke the game open with a grand slam in the eighth inning.  

The Fighting Knights now have a 10-7-1 record in 2023.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
- Starting pitchers Drew Dwyer and Chris Cucchiara kept the game scoreless through four innings 
- Lynn's first hit came in the bottom of the fifth inning on a Shawn Dougherty solo home run to give the Fighting Knights a 1-0 lead 
- Yuzuki Okamura singled and later scored on a passed ball for Lynn's second run of the game 
- Lynn took a 4-0 lead after Leon Paulino blasted a two-run home run, scoring AJ Orrico, in the bottom of the sixth inning 
- Dwyer struck out Chris Peralta to end his outing after seven innings 
- The Bears scored on a double steal in the top of the eighth inning to get within three runs 
- After Dougherty led off the bottom of the eighth with a walk, DJ Flowers pinch-ran for him and later scored on an error 
- Later in the eighth, Judge hit a grand slam, scoring John Rodriguez, Ryan Ford and Okumura to put the Fighting Knights ahead, 9-1 

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS: 
- Dwyer's pitching line: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 8 SO 
- Dwyer has recorded at least seven strikeouts in each of his five starts and has a 12.8 K/9 this season (48 SO/33.2 IP) 
- Judge has seven RBI over his last two games and is tied for fifth among all Sunshine State Conference players with 20 RBI this season 
- Paulino has a 1.092 OPS this season and nine of his 14 hits have gone for extra bases 
- Dougherty has a five-game RBI streak, totaling eight runs batted in over the stretch 
- Okamura went 3-for-4 with two runs scored to raise his season batting average to .333 
- Orrico went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored and has reached safely in all 18 games this season 
- The Fighting Knights hit multiple home runs in a game for the sixth time in 2023 
- In their last two games, Lynn has totaled 20 hits, 10 walks and 18 runs  
- Lynn pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts and have punched out 10+ batters in 10 games this season, including each of the last three
