Lynn hits 7 homers, scores 25 runs in loss to Adelphi

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A wild back and forth game saw a combined 52 runs scored as Lynn fell to Adelphi, 27-25, Monday afternoon. Leon Paulino hit two of the Fighting Knights seven home runs and tied a school record with nine RBI in the loss. Lynn is now 10-9-1 overall this season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
- Lynn quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on Yuzuki Okamura's three-run home run 
- Paulino hit a two-run single in the second inning to give Lynn a 5-0 lead 
- Adelphi scored four runs in the third inning to cut Lynn's lead to one run 
- John Rodriguez doubled home Pedro Martinez to give the Fighting Knights a 6-4 lead through three innings 
- After the Panthers tied the game in the top of the fourth, Paulino and Byron Murray hit back-to-back homers to make it a 9-6 game 
- Adelphi scored 10 runs in the sixth inning, led by a pair of three-run homers by Joe Pellegrino in the frame, to take a 16-10 lead 
- The Fighting Knights tied the game in the bottom half of the inning after a Martinez two-run shot and a Paulino grand slam 
- Relief pitcher Austin Barnao struck out the side in a scoreless inning of work in the top of the seventh inning 
- Lynn took an 18-16 lead after AJ Orrico's infield single scored Martinez in the bottom of the seventh inning 
- The Panthers rallied for four runs in the top of the eighth and seven runs in the top of the ninth inning, led by Anthony Cipri's pinch-hit grand slam, to take a 27-18 lead  
- The Fighting Knights scored seven runs in the bottom of the ninth, including a three-run home run by David Judge and a two-run home run by Ryan Ford, as the game finished in favor of the visitors, 27-25 

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS: 
- Lynn's 25 runs tied for the fifth most in school history and were the most in a game since scoring 29 times against Southern Connecticut State on 3/14/2017 
- The seven home runs hit tied a school record and was the third-such instance in Lynn history 
- Lynn batters walked 14 times, one shy of tying a school record 
- Paulino tied Cale Crews' school record for RBI in a game with nine, a record Crews had held alone since 3/6/2005 
- Paulino and Judge are tied for third in the SSC with 23 RBI this season 
- Paulino has six home runs in 57 at bats this season (9.5 AB/HR) 
- Led by Martinez's four-hit performance, seven different Fighting Knights posted multiple hits
