BOCA RATON, Fla. – Byron Murray reached base three times and hit his fifth home run of the season, but the Fighting Knights lost to American International, 10-4, Wednesday. Lynn's record is now 11-10-1 this year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Yellow Jackets struck first on Kiernan Caffrey's RBI single in the top of the first inning
- Byron Murray hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second to tie the game at one
- Pedro Martinez doubled and later scored on David Judge's double, as Lynn took a 2-1 lead after three innings
- American International tied the game in the top of the fourth on a Tyler Ziemak RBI single
- The Yellow Jackets added two runs after an error and another two runs on a single to take a 6-2 lead
- Relief pitcher Brandon Demma tossed two scoreless innings in the fifth and sixth innings, striking out three
- AIC added a seventh run in the seventh inning after Jackson Haker doubled and later scored on a base hit
- Peter Avino lined a two-run single into right field, scoring Murray and John Rodriguez, to cut the Lynn deficit to three runs after seven innings
- The Yellow Jackets scored a run in the eighth and two in the ninth to end the game in favor of the visitors, 10-4
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Murray has homered in two of his last three games and has walked a conference-leading 28 times this season
- Starting pitcher Chase Wills struck out six batters over three innings
- AJ Orrico walked twice to extend his on-base streak to 22 games
- Judge has now driven in 13 runs over his last six games
- Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and stole his team-leading 10th base of the year
- Avino reached base three times and collected his second multi-RBI game of 2023
- Hayden See picked up his first base hit in a Lynn uniform

Lynn's non-conference schedule is now over as the Fighting Knights final 24 games are all against Sunshine State Conference opponents, starting with a road series against Barry. The first game in Miami Shores is on Friday with first pitch scheduled at approximately 6:00 pm.
