MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Lynn University Fighting Knight women's track team toppled a pair of school records on Friday at the St. Thomas University Spring Break Battle. Lynn captured sixth place and posted 11 top-10 finishes.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Freshman
Charnetta Brown set a school record in the shot put for the second time this season as she tossed 6.60 meters and took 15
th place
- The 4x100-meter relay team of junior
Tawnee Madden, sophomore
Makayla Lewis, junior
Lily Koch and freshman
Brooke Bond finished runner-up and set the school record at 52.61
- Individually, Madden finished in sixth in the 100 (13.79) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (29.26)
- In the 200-meter dash, Lewis was third (27:15) and Koch was seventh (29.10)
- Junior
Natalia Kalmeijer captured 10
th in the 400-meter dash in 1:10.99
- The Fighting Knight placed three runners in the top-10 in the 800-meter run as graduate student
Deike Schipper took third (2:33.40), senior
Donya Dreibelbis was seventh (2:43.00) and freshman
Nina Szklany finished in eighth (2:44.30)
- Bond, Lewis, Dreibelbis and Schipper finished in fourth place in the 4x400 in 4:39.21
- Kalmeijer, Madden, Szklany and freshman
Zoey Bishop took home seventh place in the 4x400 in 4:54.78
