BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn starting pitcher
Tyler Romanias struck out 13 Bloomfield batters over six innings and
AJ Orrico and
David Judge each had three hits in a 9-3 win on Thursday afternoon.
The 13 strikeouts for Romanias is tied for the second most by a pitcher in a single game in Lynn baseball history. The Fighting Knights are now 9-7-1 in 2023.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Romanias struck out the side in the top of the first inning
- Judge singled and scored on
Byron Murray's double in the bottom of the first

Ryan Ford's RBI single scored
Leon Paulino to give the Fighting Knights a 2-0 lead after one inning
- Orrico led off the bottom of the third inning with a double and scored on Judge's single to put Lynn up by three runs
- The Bears scored their first run of the game on a Tyree Bradley solo home run in the fourth inning
- Romanias once again struck out the side in the top of the fifth inning and later punched out Bradley to end his day after tossing six innings
- Lynn broke the game open in the seventh inning with three runs thanks to an Orrico RBI single that scored Ford and a Judge two-run single that drove home
John Rodriguez and
Deric LaMontagne
- After another Bloomfield solo home run in the top of the eighth, Lynn responded with three more run in the bottom half of the inning
- Ford and LaMontagne singled and both scored on a Rodriguez double
- Orrico then hit another single to knock in Rodriguez
- Bradley hit his second home run of the game for the Bears in the top of the ninth inning as the game ended with a score of 9-3

- Romanias is one of three Fighting Knights who are tied for second in Lynn history with a 13-K game, while Dan Wright holds the school record with 17 strikeouts in a game on 4/25/2009
- Orrico has nine multi-hit games in 2023 and is now hitting .370
- Orrico's 27 hits this year is tied for fifth among all SSC players
- Judge posted his fourth three-hit game of the season and leads the team with a .387 batting average
- Murray went 1-for-2 with an RBI and two walks and leads all SSC players with 19 BB this season
- Ford went 2-for-3 with two runs to raise his average to .305
- Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI and stole his eighth base of the season
- Romanias, Jered Terefenco and
Jack Potter combined to strike out 17 batters, Lynn's second most strikeouts in a game this season
