BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn baseball lost the first game of their weekend series with Nova Southeastern, 8-3, Friday afternoon. The Fighting Knights fought back to within one run in the eighth inning, but the Sharks scored four runs in the ninth to seal the conference victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Sharks scored a run on an error in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead

AJ Orrico doubled, stole third and was later driven home by
Byron Murray to tie the game in the third inning
- Four singles and a walk led to a three-run top of the fourth for Nova

Shawn Dougherty led off the bottom of the seventh with a single and later scored on a Murray sac fly to cut Nova's lead to 4-2
- The Fighting Knights made it a one-run game after
David Judge led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a double and was later driven in on
Deric LaMontagne's base hit
- Five straight Sharks batters reached in the top of the ninth inning – two of them on doubles – in a four-run ninth inning

- Orrico extended his hitting streak to eight games and has scored eight runs and stolen six bases over his last five games
- Murray has seven RBI over his last three games and walked for a conference-leading 38
