Fighting Knights drop road contest at No. 18 Embry-Riddle

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 13th-ranked Lynn University women's lacrosse team suffered a 15-9 loss at No. 18 Embry-Riddle, Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Knights are 10-4 overall on the season and 1-2 in the SSC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Eagles outscored the Fighting Knights in three of four quarters, while both teams scored three times in the second
- Embry-Riddle held a narrow 31-30 edge in shots and a 14-13 advantage in draw controls
- The Eagles converted 17-of-20 clears, while Lynn finished just 13-of-21
- Senior Danielle Farinas scored with 3:32 left in the third quarter to tie the game at 1-1
- Embry-Riddle answered with the game's next three goals to close the first
- Senior Isabella Clark and junior Diane Dohler opened the second with goals that cut the deficit to 4-3
- Junior Lauren Dickson scored off a feed from junior Sydney Hill with 6:08 showing in the second as Lynn again trailed by just one, 5-4
- Embry-Riddle scored the game's next four goals for a 9-4 lead early in the third
- Dohler scored at 7:03 and freshman Elizabeth Clagett scored at 6:31 as the Fighting Knights narrowed their deficit to 9-6
- The Eagles posted a 5-1 scoring run that pushed their lead to 14-7
- Freshman Becca Clark scored two late goals to set the final 15-9
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Farinas finished with two goals and two assists
- Becca Clark scored twice with one assist and two draw controls
- Dohler scored two goals with one assist
- Freshman Isabella Connelly posted six draw controls
- Graduate student Ciara Moorman made seven saves in the loss
