MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference has announced its 2023 All-Conference Baseball teams and two Fighting Knight student-athletes were honored. Senior pitcher Drew Dwyer was selected to the First Team while junior first baseman David Judge was voted to the Second Team.
Dwyer appeared in 13 games in 2023, posting a 4-4 record over 80 innings pitched. The Fort Myers, Fla. native was twice named the SSC Pitcher of the Week. He threw a Quality Start (6+ IP, 3 ER or fewer) in 10 of his 12 starts and struck out 10+ batters four times, including two starts of six innings without allowing a hit. Dwyer ranked second in the SSC in ERA (2.54), strikeouts (94) and opponents' batting average (.192). His career 11.09 SO/9 is the best in school history while his 3.06 career ERA ranks fifth all time at Lynn (minimum 100 IP).
Judge, a junior from Troy, N.Y., was named to the 2023 All-SSC Baseball Second Team after a breakout season. In 46 games, he hit .362 with 13 doubles, nine home runs and 43 RBI. He led the club with 102 total bases, a .592 SLG% and was tied with teammate AJ Orrico for the team lead in hits (63). Along with teammate Byron Murray, he was one of 12 players in the SSC with an OPS over 1.000 (1.025). Judge had 19 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI games. He ranked in the top 10 in the SSC in HR, RBI, SLG% and OPS.
