BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University hit .333 as a team and dominated Palm Beach Atlantic in every statistical category as the Fighting Knights cruised to a 3-0 shutout of the Sailfish in the second Sunshine State Conference match for both teams, Saturday.
The victory pushes Lynn's winning streak to seven matches this season and 13 matches overall dating back to last season. The Fighting Knights (8-2, 2-0) haven't lost a set at home since mid-September a year ago. Palm Beach Atlantic settles at 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the league after defeating No. 22 Barry last night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights held advantages over the Sailfish in points (63-32), kills (45-28), aces (7-1), blocks (11-3), assists (43-26) and digs (43-35)
- Lynn hit .314 in set one, .237 in set two and .483 in the third and final set
- Set one was the closest of the match as the Sailfish rebounded from a sluggish start for a 12-11 lead

Samantha Wolf smacked a kill and Lynn took advantage of two errors for a 14-12 lead that it would never relinquish
- A 5-1 run late in the game handed the hosts a 25-20 win

Isabella Gentile had an ace as Lynn opened a 6-2 lead in set two
- Olegario later had a kill that started a 5-1 scoring jolt for a 13-8 lead
- Junior Maria Cecilia-Pinho smacked three-consecutive kills as part of a 7-2 run and Wolf later smacked two more kills as Lynn took set two 25-16
- The Fighting Knights slowly pulled away in the third set and the grabbed an 18-8 lead behind an 8-1 run

Emily Edwards had a service ace and Cecilia-Pinho posted a kill to seal a 25-12 win
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Olegario and Wolf led both teams with 12 kills each
- Olegario hit .350 with four blocks and three digs
- Wolf hit .478 with a block and six digs
- Olegario has double digit kills in seven of 10 matches this fall
- Howard hit .778 with seven kills
- In two SSC matches, Howard has 20 kills and is hitting .545
- Edwards passed out 36 assists with 10 digs, four blocks and four kills
- Gentile had 13 digs and three assists
