BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women's soccer team used a second half goal from graduate student
Gabriella Lecuona to earn a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Thomas More, Sunday.
The win improves Lynn's overall record to 2-0 and Sunday's result is the second game that the Fighting Knights needed a second half goal to earn the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights dominated the game statistically leading 17-6 in shots and 11-1 in corner kicks
- Thomas More keeper Izzy Whitis made nine saves to keep her squad in the game
- The Saints' best chance on the afternoon for a goal came 9:13 into action as Lauren Laake had a point-blank shot from directly in front of the net saved by Lynn keeper

K'La Barnes-Blackwood had shot at 18:40 in the opening half that forced a diving save from Whitis
- A little over two minutes later, sophomore
Calista Cali had a shot from the left side of the 18 sail just high of the crossbar
- Late in the first half, sophomore
Tyler Vance took a long shot that deflected off a defender and Whitis once again made a diving save
- The game headed for intermission with Lynn holding a decisive 11-1 edge in shots despite the scoreboard showing a scoreless game
- Just 1:51 into the second, Lecuona dibbled around a defender and ripped a left footed attempt into the lower right corner of the net for the game's only goal

Talorie Crafton was credited with the assist
- Ten minutes later, Crafton had a hard shot from the right side of the box saved by a diving Whitis
- Barnes-Blackwood led all players with four shots, including two on goal
- Auth notched her second shutout of the season by making four saves against the Saints, including three in the second period
