BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn women's basketball team dropped its conference game to Barry, 69-55, Wednesday night. The Fighting Knights got off to a fast start but Barry's hot shooting from three ignited the Buccaneer win.
Danielle Montelbano led the way for Lynn with 20 points on 57% shooting.
Both Lynn and Barry are now 7-7 overall this season and 2-4 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Ella Fiore scored four quick points as the Fighting Knights jumped out to a 6-0 lead
- The Buccaneers went on a 9-2 run to tie the game at 10 eight minutes into the game

Makayla Hemingway's turnaround jumper with a minute remaining in the first period helped Lynn take a 14-12 lead heading into the second
- The second quarter saw four ties and five lead changes in back-and-forth action
- Montelbano knocked down a three to give the Fighting Knights a 22-19 advantage with 5:41 showing in the second quarter
- After a shot clock violation on Barry,
Trinity Mocadlo made a layup off an assist from
Rachel Romich to give Lynn a 30-29 lead
- Barry's Chiara Fusari's jumper gave the visitors a one-point lead, 31-30, at the half
- The Buccaneers made four consecutive three-pointers over a 1:41 span to take a 48-40 lead with 3:26 remaining in the third quarter
- A Fiore steal and dish to Montelbano for a layup helped cut Barry's lead to six, 49-43
- After Barry pushed its lead to double digits, Montelbano cut the Lynn deficit to eight with 7:35 left in the game
- Barry ended the game on a 10-4 run to win by 14

- Montelbano played all 40 minutes and had a season-high 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting
- She is averaging 15.3 points per game over her last nine contests
- Fiore chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals

- Lynn shot 35% from the field while Barry shot 34%; however Lynn went 1-for-11 from three and Barry made 9-of-20
