WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Lynn men's basketball dropped its road SSC game to Palm Beach Atlantic, 76-59, Wednesday night. In a game of runs, the Fighting Knights trailed by 17 points early but were able to get within four points in the second half. However, the Sailfish pulled away over the final eight minutes for the conference win.
Lynn is now 10-4 overall and 5-3 in the Sunshine State Conference while PBA moves to 10-6 and 4-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tradavis Thompson scored the first four points for Lynn as the Sailfish opened the game on a 10-4 run
- The Fighting Knights closed the gap to three points on three separate occasions on baskets by Jamison Evans, Brad McCabe and Jalen Gilmore
- The Sailfish went on a 14-0 run to take a 30-13 lead with under five minutes remaining in the first half
- The Fighting Knights managed just 22 points in the first half and went 1-for-12 from three in the frame
- A 7-0 Lynn run early in the second half brought the Fighting Knights within 10, 43-33, with 15:55 showing
- The Sailfish responded with a 7-0 run of their own
- Gilmore contributed four points during a Lynn 10-0 run to get within seven, 50-43, with 11 minutes remaining
- A Rickey Ballard three and Evans layup brought the deficit to just four points, 52-48, with just under nine minutes left
- Palm Beach Atlantic went on an 11-3 run over the next five and a half minutes to push its lead back to double digits
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Evans led all Fighting Knights with 17 points
- Gilmore had 11 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals
- Ben Gahlert added 11 points and 13 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season
- Lynn scored a season low 59 points
- Each team committed 17 turnovers
