Fighting Knights remain unbeaten after 1-1 draw at Barry

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The top-ranked Lynn men's soccer team settled for a 1-1 draw in a road match against Barry, Wednesday evening. After Barry took the lead early in the second half, Lucas Vila evened the score with a goal in the 74th minute. The Fighting Knights outshot Barry 22-4 and 18-1 in the second half.

Lynn is now 8-0-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the SSC.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first 15 minutes saw five fouls and zero shot attempts
- Lynn goalkeeper Luca Clavero made a save on the first shot of the match at the 16:16 mark
- Clavero saved another shot at 27:01
- Luis Kiefer's low shot was saved in the 30th minute
- The Fighting Knights had a 4-3 shot advantage and led 4-2 in corner kicks at the half
- Tony Gomez, Fabio Menzel (on target) and Lucas Vila all posted shots five minutes into the second half
- Vila's shot from long distance was saved in the 55th minute
- A free kick led to a Barry goal in the 61st minute off the left foot of Lucas Silva
- A red card just 15 seconds later put the Buccaneers a man down
- Henry Haferkorn, Vila (2), and Luan Barroso Rennstich (2) peppered Barry with shots on goal over a seven-minute stretch
- Vila scored the equalizer in the 74th minute
- Coming off a corner kick and shot by Fabian Vyhnalek, Vila ripped the deflection out of the air with his right foot and into the back of the net
- Lynn spent much of the final half in the attack zone but were unable to take the lead 

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Vila has four goals in six games played and led all players in the match with four shots on goal
- Vyhnalek recorded his team-leading sixth assist
- The Fighting Knights attempted season-high 22 shots and nine corner kicks and have outshot their opponents 144-53 in 2024
